A building dating back to the 16th century, it is currently used as the headquarters of, among others, the Local Action Group (GAL) “El Trascacho”, and is utilized by the Hon. Valdepeñas City Council as a venue for various cultural activities such as exhibitions, book presentations, and more.
The current “Inés Ibáñez Braña” Auditorium is a basilica-style building, divided into three aisles, located in the Plaza de la Veracruz. Its construction dates back to the 16th century. It is built with masonry and features stone plinths. The entrances rise above a set of access steps and are constructed with stone lintels bearing a cross in low relief. The windows are composed of architraved openings with iron grilles on the main façade. Inside, the three aisles are separated by semicircular arches made of masonry and exposed brick, reflecting a certain Mudejar influence.
The building was restored in 1982.
