Inicio Monuments Religious Heritage Hermitage of Veracruz
Among the most notable is the Hermitage of Veracruz, currently known as the ‘Inés Ibañez Braña Auditorium,’ which has a very simple basilica layout divided into three naves by semi-circular arches with square pillars, located in the square of the same name.
On the outside, the façade is made of rammed earth brick, built on a stone base.
It has two doors of different sizes with stone lintels featuring cornices. The main door has two jambs made from a single piece, resting on pedestals with a relief of a cross, and in the middle of the lintel, there is another cross in bas-relief. The windows are openings with grilles.
It was declared a historical artistic monument in 1891.
