The building, now designated as the “Centro Integral de Formación e Innovación” (Comprehensive Training and Innovation Center), was the former residence of the Castellanos family. The current residential property was constructed in 1893-94. Throughout the 20th century, the building underwent various changes, being used as the headquarters for the Spanish Falange, the Musical Group “La Lira,” Agricultural Extension, Radio Juventud, and Caritas during the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. In 1962, it was acquired by the Valdepeñas Town Hall to house the Secondary Education Institute until the construction of a new institute in the late 1960s, and it remained in use as the National Police headquarters until 2010. The building features a central courtyard, two floors, a tower, a chapel with a crypt, and a cave-wine cellar. The building was rehabilitated by the Valdepeñas Town Hall for use as a comprehensive training center, with efforts made to reveal the original stucco work in the courtyard and access stairs, as well as restore the former Chapel of Cristo de Burgos for use as an event hall. This included a cleaning process to remove overpainting that concealed the paintings imitating various types of marble, as well as the physical and chromatic reintegration of missing moldings and pilasters, restoring the original appearance.
